Following his general Obstetrics and Gynecology training in New York, he completed a three-year fellowship program in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles. In the first year of fellowship training, he won the “Prize Paper Award” of the 51st Annual Meeting of the Pacific Coast Reproductive Society with his landmark study on hyperprolactinemia. Additionally, in the following years he was awarded The Pacific Coast Obstetrical and Gynecological Society’s Frank Lynch Memorial Essay Award, American Society for Reproductive Medicine/Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Fellowship Research Prize Paper Award, The European Society for Photobiology Fellowship Award, The Pacific Coast Reproductive Society Award and Cook-Davajan In-Training Award. Most recently, he was selected as one of the “Top Fertility Specialists” and named as the “Doctors’ Doctor”. Dr. Bayrak is double board-certified in the field of General Obstetrics and Gynecology and in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
Dr. Bayrak started his private practice career in Manhattan, New York where he practiced for a few years before coming back to Los Angeles to become the medical director of the Southern California offices of the largest national fertility practice. He continues his professional career as the founder and medical director of LA IVF with clinics located in West Los Angeles, Pasadena, Chino Hills, and San Diego.
Dr. Bayrak’s clinical expertise includes treating “unexplained infertility” cases, decreased egg reserve, advanced reproductive age, complex infertility, recurrent pregnancy loss, laparoscopic pelvic surgery, third party reproduction (egg/sperm donation and surrogacy), egg freezing and ovulation disorders (i.e. hyperprolactinemia, polycystic ovary syndrome – PCOS). His clinical interests include the application of preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) into IVF practice and fertility preservation using egg freezing (Oocyte Vitrification).
Dr. Bayrak reported the first baby born in Southern California through a genetically tested frozen egg in 2010. He also treated the first cases of preimplantation genetic testing (formerly known as CGH) by testing embryos using the ultra-rapid freezing technique with complete chromosome and genetic screening that resulted in live births.
He has authored numerous scientific abstracts and articles as well as medical textbook chapters on Ovarian Ageing, Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS), Egg Donation and Embryo Transfer Techniques. Dr. Bayrak has presented his research at various national and international scientific meetings as an invited speaker. He is currently involved in Continuing Medical Education (CME) talks to residents and general Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He is a reviewer for the prestigious journals Fertility and Sterility and The American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Bayrak is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), The Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (SREI), Pacific Coast Reproductive Society (PCRS), American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL) and a Diplomate of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG). He is currently licensed to practice medicine in the states of New York, New Jersey, and California and affiliated with Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena.
Dr. Bayrak enjoys skiing, soccer, traveling and spending time with his family. As a perfectionist, he is dedicated to providing the highest level of care to his patients and helping them achieve their goal of having a child.
