Endometriosis affects one in ten women in the general population and up to 50% of women with infertility may have endometriosis. It can be difficult to diagnose endometriosis clinically and in some women it can be present with minimal symptoms, but yet it can cause significant inflammation of the pelvic organs which can lead to pelvic pain, scar tissue formation, ovarian cysts called endometriomas and infertility. Endometriosis can lead to disruption of daily life, chronic pelvic pain and even lead to depression. The management of endometriosis is complex and challenging at times, but there are both medical and surgical treatment options that can not only provide adequate pain relief but also improve fertility in those
seeking immediate pregnancy.

Dr. Bayrak, the medical director of LA IVF, will be giving a presentation about endometriosis and endometriosis related pain control at the 2nd American Fertility Expo on April 28, 2018 in Pasadena.

The talk will focus on educating the attendees about the definition and diagnosis of endometriosis along with treatment options for pain control. Medical and surgical treatment options will be the focus on the talk, but Dr. Bayrak will also discuss options
for endometriosis management in women with infertility. Various treatment options including intrauterine insemination, ovulation induction, controlled ovarian stimulation and In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) will be discussed.
